Well framed with the fish. Usually animals are not good on these things. But the fish is good here for Washington because it's featured with the rest of the scene its habitat; it's not just stuck on next to some other thing as blemishing afterthought. No mixed metaphores is a good thing. Sometimes deatailed designs do not work on coins, and sometimes they do. I don't know what makes those that work work. But this one works, and I feel refreshed when I glance at it. Nice to get with change at the store because it takes me away nicely. I fear, however, that the Western mountain motif is going become tiresome.

Nevada's is to me the most beautiful of all the quarters. So far. The meadow mustangs are splendidly drawn and their movement reads with excitement on the coin itself. The fauna on either side is lovely and both branches seem to reign in the horses. The curve of the "Silver State" banner up instead of down is very important and esthetically highlights the whole design. The sun seems to truly shine on the scene. I was hoping Nevada's quarter would display cards, dice, chips and a stripper, but I'm glad they did what they did. Absolutely beautiful, I think.
