Strange glowing rainbow lights show up in the sky just before major earthquakes occur. No one knows why. If you find yourself looking at these and thinking, "oooo, so pretty," you might want to postpone your admiration and head for some safe place away from large structures. Here's a video right before the recent quake in Sichuan, China.

A mysterious low frequency sound emmanting from seemingly nowhere. Its only heard in certain places (Taos, New Mexico is one place). I prefer the alien homing beacon, theory.
