What other sport can you do when you are old?
Imagine being able to move like this dude when you are 80 someodd years old. Just cross your fingers you won't be in a walker, let alone pull off smooth jumping high kicks. Loss of balance and supportive muscle strength are the biggest challanges as people face as they enter their 70's and 80's. Fortunately, these are exactly the things that Tai Chi helps maintain. I've seen some really old ladies in the parks of Chinatown go from a one legged crouching pose into a full on spin kick. Might as well start practicing now.

Competition Tai Chi -- 48 Form
An older competition form, containing moves from many different styles. If you have any doubts about the potential strength building effects of Tai Chi, be sure to check out the muscles in this girl's legs. She is obviously very experienced, but there is no reason why anyone can't start working towards her level.

Yang Style -- 24 Form
A fairly simple and short Tai Chi form. It is one of the forms that was standardized on by the Chinese government for purposes of competition. A side benefit is that one can learn this form and probably go just about anywhere and find other people doing the same form.

Chen Style -- 56
Chen style is the oldest of the main Tai Chi forms. It combines fast Kung Fu style kicks and punches with the slower internal moves common to other Tai Chi forms. Its both relaxing and an incredible workout, particularly if you can keep as low as this guy in the video does. Most people aren't even close to as good as he is, but its still a total blast to do.
