Serously, though, I would love to hear someone say, "Oh, good thing Clear Case came along, because without it, we couldn't do our job."
My guess is that it existed at a time when there weren't suitable tools for the job. And now they are running mostly on legacy stuff. Sort of like how people still buy mainframes with less cpu power than my cell phone.
